Thought you wouldn't see England play this summer? Think again. on Thursday May 15, St Mary's Stadium, Southampton will play host to England v Scotland - The Legends. Two squads of the game's most famous names will go head-to-head in a bid to lift The Alan Ball Memorial Cup. The likes of Gascoigne, Merson, le Tissier, Ince, Ferdinand, Le Saux and Waddle take to the pitch against their arch enemies creating a football experience for all the family. 97,000 supporters have previously cheered on almost 30 goals in four Legends' matches as far afield as Italy and Malta and as close to home as Reading and Milton Keynes. Road Directions

The Stadium is just to the east of Southampton City Centre, on Britannia Road, which is off Northam Road (A3024). Northam Road can be approached from the direction of Bitterne or from the city centre (direction Bitterne). Parking in the area of the Stadium is very limited and it is suggested that city centre car parks be used from which it is a 10 - 15 minute walk to the Stadium. Buses from the city centre passing the Stadium are BlueStar 3 and 18 and First Bus 5, 6 and 9.

Public Transport Directions

From the city centre or from Bitterne, a suburb on the eastern side of Southampton, BlueStar bus services 3 and 18 and First Bus bus services 5, 6 and 9 stop on Northam Road close to the end of Britannia Road. If arriving by train at Southampton central railway station, Bluestar 3 and 18 can be boarded at a stop in front of Southampton Civic Centre just up the hill from the station. The Civic Centre has a clock tower on the side nearest the station and a car park in front of the building. Facing the entrance to the Civic Centre car park the BlueStar bus stop is just to the right. First Bus 5 has a stop on the north side of Southampton Central railway station but First Bus 6 and 9 have to be boarded in the city centre.
